Maegan Reid Psychiatry is a private-pay practice and does not accept insurance. However, we are happy to provide a detailed receipt, also known as a superbill, that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement vary by insurance plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed. We encourage patients to contact their insurance provider directly to learn more about their out-of-network mental health benefits.

Primary care providers play an important role in mental healthcare and can diagnose and treat many common mental health conditions, including prescribing psychiatric medications. However, mental health is complex, and sometimes a more specialized approach is beneficial.
At Maegan Reid Psychiatry, our care is focused specifically on mental health. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Maegan has advanced education and clinical training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric conditions.
Many mental health conditions share similar symptoms. For example, difficulty concentrating may be related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, or another underlying concern. Understanding these differences is essential to developing an appropriate treatment plan.
Our goal isn't to replace your primary care provider, but to complement the care you already receive by offering thoughtful psychiatric evaluations, individualized medication management, and a collaborative approach to your mental well-being.
-
Absolutely! We believe that collaborative care is an important part of supporting your overall mental health and well-being. We are happy to coordinate with your therapist, primary care provider, or other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
With your written authorization, we can communicate with your other providers to help ensure a thoughtful, coordinated approach to your treatment. Simply let us know during your appointment who you would like us to collaborate with, and we will help you complete the necessary release of information.

ppointment frequency depends on your individual needs and treatment plan. Initially, follow-up visits are typically scheduled every 2–4 weeks. Once your symptoms are stable, appointments may be spaced further apart.
Patients prescribed controlled substances, including stimulants, are generally required to be seen at least every 3 months, while patients taking other psychiatric medications should be seen at least every 6 months.
Medication Refills: Please request refills at least 3 business days before running out of medication. Refills are processed during regular business hours, and appointments may be required if you are overdue for follow-up. Controlled substance refills require additional monitoring and are not guaranteed without an appropriate evaluation. We encourage patients to plan ahead, as same-day, weekend, and after-hours refill requests cannot be accommodated.
